Pacifica Psychological Services is founded on the philosophy that an organization comprised of caring, experienced experts can partner with artists, schools, and performing arts organizations to offer high quality, cost effective counseling, consultation services, master classes and educational workshops for artists and those who support the creative process. In an endeavor to offer exceptional and relevant services to artists as they address the many demands facing them in their daily artistic and interpersonal lives, Pacifica Psychological Services provides extensive opportunities to explore the multiple developmental challenges facing our artists as they strive to excel in their art.

Workshops/Master Classes - 2008-2009

Joining others with common interests and concerns is often the most constructive and supportive way to work.  Support groups, workshops, and master classes are offered in Psychology and the Creative Arts. Themes for these workshops include:

These workshops typically encompass personal, artistic, business, healing, and interpersonal relationship issues.

Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling and Psychotherapy sessions provide an opportunity for artists to consider a broad range of concerns in order to facilitate optimal personal, artistic, academic, and social & emotional growth.

Psychological  Assessment

A full range of psychodiagnostic testing is available including:  Psychological, Cognitive, Social-Emotional, Learning Disabilities, Academic, Vocational and Artistic Assessment.

About Dr. Colvin -

As the Founder and Clinical Director of Pacifica Psychological Services, Kathline Colvin, Ph.D. specializes in services in Psychology and Creativity for adolescents and adults. She is a Professor of Psychology at Saddleback College, is a Psychological Consultant at the Los Feliz Charter School for the Arts, and offers consultations, workshops and master classes in Psychology and the Creative Arts. Following her graduate studies in Clinical Psychology and Music, Dr. Colvin was honored with fellowships at Yale University and Cornell University Medical College.  Dr. Colvin was trained as a musician in New York City

and Los Angeles. She studied piano with Carol Rosenberger and Johana Harris, and pursued a career as a musician (piano and opera).  She also worked as a stage director and production stage manager in regional opera houses.  Dr. Colvin has authored articles, interviews and reviews of concerts, dance, and theater arts for national and international publications, has provided program and liner notes, and was the Editor for Psychoanalysis and Music, sponsored by the City University of New York.  She has been a guest lecturer at performing arts organizations, high schools, colleges, and summer arts festivals.  Her research in moods and the creative process has made a unique contribution to understanding the development of the creative personality.
